Gate is quietly showing the kind of strength I actually pay attention to.
The latest DefiLlama CEX data puts Gate at around $95.8M in net inflows over the past 24 hours, currently the strongest 24-hour inflow among the major centralized exchanges tracked on the dashboard.
The interesting part is that the story does not stop at the 24-hour number.
Gate is also showing approximately $41M in 7-day net inflows and $287.8M over the past month. That makes the current move more meaningful to me than a single large deposit day. One day can be noise. A positive flow across multiple timeframes starts giving us a better picture of where capital has been moving.
And there is another number worth watching.
DefiLlama currently shows Gate with roughly $7.39B in tracked assets, around $1.50B in 24-hour spot volume, and approximately $12.79B in 24-hour open interest. In other words, the inflow ranking is appearing alongside substantial trading activity and derivatives positioning.
This is why I don't look at exchange inflows as just a popularity contest.
When capital enters an exchange, it can be there for many reasons — trading, derivatives collateral, market-making, arbitrage, asset management or simply moving funds onto the platform. So inflows alone don't tell us whether traders are bullish or bearish.
What they do tell us is that capital is becoming available inside the venue.
Then we can combine that information with volume, open interest and liquidity to understand the bigger picture.
And Gate has been building around exactly those areas.
DefiLlama's recent research highlighted Gate's scale in both spot and derivatives markets. Its research reported $308.1M in 30-day net inflows in the period it analyzed, while Gate's combined spot and derivatives activity was also substantial. DefiLlama separately highlighted Gate's position among the leading exchanges for spot volume and its significant derivatives activity.
I also think the reserve side deserves attention.
Gate's latest August transparency report states that, as of August 19, 2026, total reserves reached $8.215B, with an overall reserve ratio of 127%. BTC reserves showed a 22.79% excess reserve ratio, ETH showed 22.05%, while the combined reserve ratio for USDT, USDC, USD1 and GUSD was 111.63%.
That matters because strong inflows are much more interesting when you can also see the platform expanding its reserve base and maintaining excess coverage across major assets.
Gate is also becoming more than a traditional crypto exchange.
Its August report says Gate Stocks had expanded to more than 12,800 assets, including stocks and ETFs, while its broader TradFi coverage exceeded 1,000 assets. Gate also reported growth in Event Contracts, Perp DEX API activity and institutional CrossEx deposits.
Then there is the Web3 side.
On September 16, Gate integrated Circle's Arc blockchain across Gate Trenches, Gate Wallet and on-chain market data. Gate Trenches supports zero-gas trading for Arc assets, bringing asset discovery, market tracking and execution into the same ecosystem.
This is the part I like about the current Gate story.
The exchange is not relying on one product or one narrative.
There is capital inflow.
There is meaningful spot activity.
There is large derivatives participation.
There is a growing multi-asset offering.
There is reserve transparency.
And there is continued expansion into Web3 and on-chain trading.
For me, the $95.8M 24-hour inflow is the headline, but the surrounding numbers are the real story.
A ranking can change tomorrow. Capital flows can reverse. Markets can move quickly.
That's why I would keep watching the next few sessions rather than treating one ranking as a permanent change in market leadership.
If Gate can continue attracting net capital while maintaining strong volume, liquidity, open interest and reserve coverage, then this becomes a much more interesting structural trend rather than just another exchange-flow headline.
Capital flow tells me where money is moving.
Volume tells me whether traders are using it.
Open interest tells me how much positioning is building.
Reserves tell me what sits behind the platform.
Right now, Gate is putting up numbers across all four areas that are worth watching.
And that's why this inflow ranking caught my attention.
Gate isn't just getting the capital flow — it's building the infrastructure around it.
