Gate ETF activity is showing a very clear pattern right now: the strongest moves are concentrated on the long side, and NEAR5L is leading that rotation. NEAR5L surged +181.92%, taking the top position, while UNI5L followed with +155.74%. APT5L and UNI3L also gained more than 90%, creating a leaderboard where leveraged long products are clearly dominating the strongest daily moves.
The interesting part is that NEAR5L is not moving in isolation. The underlying NEAR token is trading around $3.43, with approximately +29% over 24 hours and +42.5% over seven days based on the current market reference. Recent market data also shows NEAR trading around the $3.45 area during the September 18 rally, with unusually heavy participation. This makes the NEAR5L move easier to understand: the leveraged product is amplifying an already strong underlying trend rather than creating the trend itself.
That distinction is important when reading a 5L product. NEAR5L should not be treated like simply buying NEAR and holding it. A leveraged ETF is designed to magnify the underlying asset's daily movement and uses a rebalancing mechanism. Because of that daily reset, returns over multiple sessions can differ materially from simply multiplying NEAR's total percentage change by five. Strong one-directional momentum can produce powerful gains, but volatile back-and-forth trading can also create significant performance drag.
UNI provides the second comparison point. UNI5L has gained +155.74%, while UNI3L is also above +90%. When both 3L and 5L products linked to the same underlying token are appearing near the top of the leaderboard, it suggests that the move is not limited to a single leveraged product. It also gives a useful way to compare how leverage changes the response of ETF products to the same underlying market movement.
APT5L adds another layer to the picture. Its move above 90% shows that the rotation is not exclusively a NEAR story. The important question for the next sessions is whether the leaderboard continues to be dominated by NEAR, UNI and APT long products or whether liquidity starts rotating toward other tokens and sectors. A changing leaderboard can provide an early signal that market momentum is broadening rather than remaining concentrated in one narrative.
NEAR's fundamental backdrop also deserves attention. Dynamic resharding is part of the protocol's scalability development, while the planned SPICE upgrade is designed to separate consensus and execution and target approximately 200-millisecond block production, compared with roughly 600 milliseconds in the current design. That represents a potential threefold improvement in block-production speed, although SPICE remains a development roadmap item rather than a completed mainnet capability.
The recent NEAR rally has also been accompanied by a major increase in trading activity. Current market reports place NEAR's 24-hour turnover in the billion-dollar range during the move, while the token has gained more than 40% across the seven-day window. Confidential transactions, NEAR Intents and the NEAR@3.33 activity have added additional liquidity and narrative catalysts to the market. The important distinction is that high volume confirms participation, but it does not automatically mean the trend must continue.
For an ETF trader, I would therefore read the current leaderboard through three layers. First: underlying momentum. NEAR, UNI and APT need to continue producing strong spot performance. Second: liquidity. ETF volume and the underlying token's volume need to remain healthy rather than relying on a short-lived price spike. Third: rotation. If NEAR5L remains at the top while UNI5L, APT5L and other long products continue appearing among the strongest performers, the long-ETF trend is broadening. If the leaderboard suddenly shifts toward short products or different sectors, the risk profile changes quickly.
The key risk is chasing the percentage rather than understanding the structure. A product showing +181.92% can look extremely attractive after the move has already happened, but the same leverage that magnifies gains also magnifies the impact of adverse daily moves. Rebalancing means the path taken by the underlying asset matters, not just where it starts and finishes.
For my #WeeklyShowcase observation, the main dashboard is therefore NEAR around $3.43 + 24H/7D performance + NEAR spot volume + NEAR5L performance + UNI/UNI3L/UNI5L comparison + APT5L performance + ETF liquidity + leaderboard rotation. The most useful trade review is to record the actual entry level, current P&L or exit level, the profit-taking zone, and whether the position was opened during the breakout or after a pullback. That makes the post a genuine ETF-market observation rather than simply repeating the daily leaderboard.
Right now, the data tells a clear story: NEAR is providing the strongest underlying momentum, while leveraged long ETFs are magnifying that momentum across Gate's leaderboard. The next confirmation is whether volume and liquidity remain elevated and whether the long-side rotation expands beyond the current leaders. @Gate_Square
NEAR5L +181.92% surged to the top, with UNI5L +155.74% close behind; APT5L and UNI3L also both gained over 90% 🔥
By the end of the day, the leaderboard was almost entirely dominated by long positions.
