$ZRO Is Reclaiming $1 But The September Unlock Is Still The Real Test
$ZRO is back above the $1 area, and the interesting part isn't simply the 7–9% recovery.
It's the timing.
ZRO is trading around $1.10–$1.12 today after moving from roughly $0.92–$0.95 earlier this week. The recent recovery pushed price back through the $1 psychological level, while derivatives activity has expanded sharply.
But there is a supply event sitting directly ahead.
LayerZero has a scheduled September unlock around September 20. The exact reported amount differs across tracking datasets, but the event is large enough to matter relative to ZRO's current circulating float. One tracker estimates roughly 31.25M ZRO, while another breaks the event into several allocation tranches.
That makes the current move a price vs supply story.
The chart has improved.
ZRO recovered from the $0.92–$0.95 zone and reclaimed $1.00. The next important area is around $1.07–$1.10, followed by the recent $1.15 region.
A sustained move above $1.15 would show that buyers are willing to absorb higher prices despite the approaching supply event.
Failure around $1.10–$1.15 would make the current recovery look more like a bounce inside a damaged structure.
Derivatives are also worth watching.
Aggregated futures data currently shows more than $120M in ZRO open interest, with futures volume substantially above spot volume. Funding is positive on several tracked venues, meaning longs are paying shorts. That doesn't automatically mean bearishness, but it does tell me leverage is becoming part of the move.
The fundamental side is more interesting than the chart alone.
LayerZero says its network has processed more than $260B in value across 165 networks, while its latest ecosystem update is tightening support around the most-used testnets. The project is also increasing its V2 bug bounty to $3.5M.
There is also a direct value-capture angle.
LayerZero says Stargate revenue is being directed toward ZRO buybacks, while newer products such as ATLAS are designed to route part of trading economics toward buying and burning ZRO.
So the contradiction is clear:
Adoption + new value capture vs upcoming token supply.
Personally, I don't want to chase ZRO simply because it reclaimed $1.
I want to see whether $1.00 becomes genuine support and whether $1.15 can be broken and held with meaningful spot participation.
If that happens, the market is showing that demand can absorb the supply narrative.
If $1.00 is lost again, especially with rising OI, I would become much more cautious because leveraged positions could accelerate the downside.
What I Like
Clean recovery from the $0.92–$0.95 area.
Reclaim of the $1 psychological level.
Growing derivatives participation.
LayerZero continues expanding its infrastructure and ZRO value-capture mechanisms.
What I Don't Like
The September unlock is very close.
Futures activity is much larger than spot activity.
Positive funding means long positioning is carrying a cost.
The $1.10–$1.15 zone still needs to prove itself as support rather than resistance.
For me, the key question is simple:
Can ZRO hold above $1 and break $1.15 before the market has to absorb the next supply release
