Spring has arrived for crypto market makers

The SEC’s previously revised Dealer Rule effectively brought nearly all on-chain whales and market-making institutions that provide one-sided or two-sided liquidity to pools and earn bid-ask spreads under the Broker-Dealer compliance regime.
Exempting proprietary-capital market makers from registration obligations means high-frequency market makers (Jump, Wintermute, etc.) and on-chain institutional LPs can finally enter using their own funds without concerns. Liquidity depth is no longer limited to market-making budgets funded out of pocket by project teams, but can instead tap into genuine external market-making capital.
