In crypto, the wrong question is often not “Which coin?” but “How much?”

You can choose an excellent asset, but if the position is too large, even a correct thesis can produce a poor portfolio outcome.
Risk management starts here.

Having a strong view on Bitcoin, Ethereum or an altcoin doesn't automatically determine the correct position size.

The same asset creates very different portfolio risk at:

5% exposure versus 50% exposure.

That's why three variables matter:

Conviction + volatility + position size.

Altcoins can experience much larger price swings than Bitcoin. Recent market volatility is another reminder of that.

“Which asset should I buy?” is a research question.

“How much should I own?” is a survival question.

Over time, portfolio outcomes depend not only on choosing the right asset, but also on how much you lose when your thesis is wrong.

💬 What criteria do you use when deciding position size?

Risk Note: Position sizing does not eliminate investment risk.
