DigiTimes reported a week ago that SEMCO had been delaying equipment orders since June as a TGV-module reliability evaluation dragged on
Today, KIPOST reports that SEMCO has resumed equipment orders, with the first PO potentially coming as early as October
Among the suppliers are $LPK, Chemtronics, Philoptics, and Joongwoo M-Tech, which have been working with SEMCO on its glass-substrate supply chain since 2024
This suggests SEMCO made enough progress over the summer to restart procurement
Many industry experts still question whether glass substrates can achieve the reliability, yields, and economics required for mass production
