A new blockchain just went live — and this one is worth watching from day one.
Circle’s Arc public mainnet officially went live on September 16, bringing a different approach to how blockchain infrastructure can be built around real-world financial activity.
What immediately caught my attention is the design.
Arc uses USDC as its native gas asset, so users do not need to keep a separate volatile network token just to pay transaction fees. Circle also designed Arc around deterministic finality in under one second, making fast settlement one of the network’s core features. Arc is EVM-compatible as well, which means developers can use familiar Ethereum-based tools and Solidity infrastructure.
But the bigger story is what Circle is trying to build around it.
Arc launched with more than 100 applications and more than 100 institutional and ecosystem builders already involved. The founding validator group includes names such as BlackRock, DTCC, ICE, Mastercard, Visa, Standard Chartered, Galaxy, MoneyGram, SBI Group, Sumitomo Corporation and Global Payments, alongside Circle.
That gives Arc a very different starting point from a typical new chain.
The focus is not simply “launch a blockchain and wait for the ecosystem.”
Circle is positioning Arc around stablecoin payments, FX, trading, lending, tokenized real-world assets and AI-agent transactions. Circle’s launch announcement also says Arc supports USDC, EURC and tokenized assets, while Circle StableFX is designed to provide 24/7 cross-currency settlement.
And the ecosystem is already starting with recognizable financial and DeFi infrastructure.
Circle says day-one trading infrastructure includes Aero, Fomo and Uniswap, while assets such as USYC, BUIDL, private credit funds and cirBTC are available for trading, lending or collateral use.
Now comes the part that matters for Gate users.
Gate connected to Arc from day one.
Gate’s Web3 ecosystem is integrating Arc across several areas, including Trenches / “Gold-Digging Dog,” Gate Wallet, on-chain market data, swaps and cross-chain interaction. Most interesting for traders hunting new assets: Gate says Gold-Digging Dog provides 0-Gas trading support for Arc ecosystem assets, removing the normal gas-cost barrier for eligible transactions.
Gate also says its Web3 infrastructure supports Arc trading through Uniswap V2, V3 and V4, giving Arc assets access to additional liquidity routes.
For me, this is where the opportunity becomes interesting.
When a new chain launches, the first stage is usually not about finding the “next 100x.” It is about watching where real liquidity, builders and users begin to concentrate.
Are people launching memes?
Are developers building DeFi?
Are stablecoin payments actually gaining activity?
Are RWA protocols bringing meaningful assets on-chain?
Are traders moving liquidity from established ecosystems into Arc?
Those are the signals I would watch before getting excited about any individual token.
And there is another important point: Arc itself should not be confused with a publicly launched ARC token. Circle's mainnet announcement describes the network and its infrastructure, while reports on the launch note that Circle minted ARC tokens as a technical milestone but has not announced a public token launch. So I would be very careful with unofficial “ARC token” claims and fake listings.
My approach with a fresh ecosystem is simple:
I would rather spend time identifying where users are actually trading and where liquidity is actually forming than blindly buying the first token that starts trending.
For Arc, I am watching four areas first:
Memes — because new chains often attract speculative liquidity quickly.
DeFi — because sustainable liquidity usually needs more than speculation.
RWA — because this is one of the areas Arc is explicitly designed around.
Stablecoin activity — because USDC-native gas and Circle’s payment infrastructure make this one of the most important things to monitor.
The infrastructure is now live.
The builders are already there.
Gate is connected from day one.
And the next question is no longer whether Arc is launching — it is what the market actually builds on it.
That is the part I want to watch closely.
If you are exploring Arc through Gate, share the new Arc assets, projects or trading setups you discover. The early ecosystem is still developing, so research matters more than hype.
