I want to slap myself—I’m never placing trigger orders again.
Although I didn’t lose money myself, it feels awful that it caused my people to lose money.
I had something to do this morning and needed to drive the whole time.
Because the recent highs have all come in the morning,
I was afraid of missing the move, so I placed a short order at 4305 based on yesterday’s high.
Normally, there would have been no problem; a stop-loss above 4310 would have been enough.
But somehow, I set the stop-loss at 4335 instead of 4315.
By the time I finished what I was doing and checked, the order had filled and I was already stuck in the position.
I could only average in and wait to exit at breakeven, but some of my people couldn’t hold on and ended up losing money.
From now on, I’ll hold myself to strict standards: if I can’t fully focus on watching the market, I absolutely won’t place any orders. I know my own level—I was able to quickly make back the losses just now, but I still have to be cautious, cautious, and even more cautious. I absolutely won’t make this kind of mistake again.
