The Fed is meeting again tonight, and the market has already written the script

The 25-basis-point hike has already been priced in to a considerable extent, so if it actually happens, the impact may not be that severe
What really matters is whether Powell serves up candy or a knife tonight

If it hikes and stays hawkish, with the dollar and Treasury yields rising, Bitcoin and U.S. stocks will probably cry out in pain again, while gold will also take its cue from real interest rates
If the hike comes through but the remarks are not that aggressive, the market could stage a classic “bad news is good news” rally—dumping first and then recovering is not out of the question

If you want to get rich quick, go all-in early and bet on the answer—you could also lose big
If you want stability, first watch the rate decision, then the dot plot, and finally wait for Powell’s remarks
After all, the Fed’s most classic meeting plot is:
You think the answer is A, but it insists on giving you C

As soon as real interest rates rise, gold immediately loses its nerve.

First wait for the statement, then listen to the speech, and finally read the interpretations on Twitter.

The dot plot is ten times more important than the interest rate decision.
