Google Launches Gemini 3.8 Live and Extended Thinking Version, Enhancing Real-Time Voice Interaction

Abstract generation in progress

Mars Finance News: On September 16, Google announced on September 15 local time that it had launched two real-time conversational models, Gemini 3.8 Live and Gemini 3.8 Live Extended Thinking, with a focus on improving voice interaction, real-time reasoning, and complex task execution.

Google said Gemini 3.8 Live supports near-real-time visual input, can automatically switch between 97 languages during conversations, and can execute tools and API calls in the background. The extended-thinking version supports thinking while speaking and is designed for complex, multistep tasks.

Both models are now available to developers through the Gemini API and Google AI Studio. Gemini 3.8 Live is also available on Search Live, while the extended-thinking version has been launched for Gemini Live users. (Wide-Angle Observation)
