Gate has just brought more good news👏

Gate US has secured an MTL license in Massachusetts, bringing its total number of state-level compliance licenses across the US to 37, covering 47 states and territories.
It is worth noting that US regulation is notoriously “fragmented”—each state has its own set of rules. Massachusetts established a dedicated money transmission licensing framework under Chapter 169B, which only took effect in January 2026. The banking department is responsible for approvals, with very strict standards for finances, compliance, and operations. Securing a license in such a “tough” state is, in itself, proof of capability.
And this is not just about the US. Gate’s compliance footprint is broad—the company has obtained a Malta MiCA license in Europe, which can cover 29 EEA member states through the “passporting mechanism”; it also has licensed entities established in Japan, Australia, Dubai, and the Bahamas.
I previously saw a poll on Gate’s Square asking, “What is the most important moat for global trading platforms?” 71% chose compliance, while 29% chose product experience.
The result actually says a lot. Before looking at the product and user experience, people first ask, “Can this platform legally operate where I am?”
Compliance is not a product or liquidity, and it cannot directly help you earn a single extra cent from trading. But it is the foundation. Without that foundation, nothing built on top of it will work. On this matter, Gate has a clear understanding and firm determination.
