President Trump just rejected new AI "guardrails."

In a Monday Truth Social post, he said the only control AI needs is a "strong and smart (high IQ!) president." he named anthropic ceo dario amodei, accused a "sick conspiracy" against AI and data centers, and said China is the only winner if the u.s. slows down. Line he keeps repeating: whoever wins AI, wins.
The post is a reply to a rare weekend alignment. amodei had called to pace frontier models so safety work can catch up. sam altman and elon musk had also backed a slower cadence after fresh misuse reports around advanced systems. Trump's answer on Sunday, then again in writing, was the same: America is ahead of China and should stay there. Existing criminal and regulatory power is enough, in his view.
That is the policy split. One side wants a speed limit on the biggest models. the white house wants buildout, power for data centers, and no new brake that Beijing could exploit.
Markets hear two things at once. less federal slowdown risk for nvidia, utilities, and data-center landlords. More political heat on labs that ask for rules, and more fight over local data-center permits, which he folded into the same "conspiracy" line.
