Globalization is not about translating an app into English, but about deepening “local capabilities”

Gate’s US state-level compliance licenses have increased to 37. With the Massachusetts MTL license now in place, the compliance landscape in the US market continues to expand. This change makes me think of a very practical question: What does it really mean for a global trading platform to be truly global?#GateUS全美合规牌照增至37张
The answer may not be translating the app into dozens of languages, nor simply opening registration access to several countries.
True globalization requires compliance systems, technical infrastructure, risk controls, product design, and local operations to be fully implemented in each local market. This is especially true in a market like the United States, where the regulatory system is complex and state-level rules vary significantly. The importance of localization capabilities will become increasingly prominent.
The 37 state-level licenses mean the platform needs to address regulatory requirements, operational rules, and market conditions across different regions. This process may be less eye-catching than launching popular tokens, but it is a major test of the platform’s organizational capabilities.
But I also believe compliance cannot be the endpoint. Users will ultimately vote with their feet. Are trading speeds fast enough? Is liquidity deep enough? Is the product offering rich enough? Is risk control stable? These are what determine whether licenses can truly translate into user value.
Therefore, if I were to rank the moats, I would place compliance in the first layer, but would not view it in isolation. Compliance is the infrastructure, the product is the user entry point, liquidity is the core experience, and localization is the amplifier of global expansion.
A truly outstanding platform is not the one with the most licenses, but the one capable of combining all these capabilities.#
