After the Fed Decision What Matters Next?

The rate decision itself may not be the biggest market mover if a 25 bps hike is already priced in. The real volatility could come from the Fed’s tone, dot plot, and guidance for the months ahead.
Here’s what I’ll be watching after the decision:
$BTC A dovish tone could support a move higher, while a hawkish outlook may trigger short-term selling and volatility.
Stocks: Tech and growth stocks could react strongly to changes in rate expectations. A less aggressive Fed would generally be supportive for risk assets.
Gold: Gold could benefit if markets start pricing in lower future rates, while a stronger hawkish stance could pressure it.
Oil: Oil may react more indirectly through the dollar, growth expectations, and overall risk sentiment.
My strategy is simple: I don’t want to chase the first move. I’ll wait for the initial volatility to settle, then watch price action and liquidity before taking any position.
The Fed speaks first. The market confirms the direction afterward.

Gold—this logic is sound. If expectations of interest rate cuts heat up, precious metals will most likely benefit.

The dot plot is far more important than the decision itself. Last time, the dot plot completely blindsided the market.

Tech stocks are indeed highly sensitive to interest rates, so NVDA and the others will probably get rattled again.

Waiting for volatility to come down before entering is indeed safer; chasing the first wave can easily turn you into exit liquidity.
