Gate’s 24-hour futures open interest has moved into the top tier of global CEXs, highlighting the growing level of participation and capital positioning in the derivatives market.

For me, open interest is more than just a big number. It shows how much attention traders are giving to futures markets and can provide useful insight into where leverage and positioning are building.

But high open interest does not automatically mean bullish or bearish. The real signal comes from combining it with volume, funding rates, price structure, liquidity, and support/resistance levels.

When I trade futures, I prefer using the 15-minute timeframe for entries and waiting for confirmation instead of chasing fast moves. Clear stop-loss levels and controlled position size are just as important as finding the right direction.

As derivatives activity continues to grow, I’ll be watching whether increasing open interest is supported by genuine volume and sustainable market participation.

For traders, what matters most when choosing a futures platform: liquidity, low fees, execution speed, security, or risk-management tools?
