CEX rankings are just the surface; the real competition lies in the next wave of innovation
Gate’s entry into the mainstream CEX Top 4 may appear to be just a ranking change, but in reality, it reflects structural changes taking place across the crypto trading market. July data shows that Gate’s spot trading volume was approximately $35.8 billion, ranking fourth globally; its derivatives trading volume was approximately $276 billion, also placing it among the global leaders.
What is even more intriguing is RWA. In August, global CEX RWA perpetual trading volume reached $602 billion, a record high, while Gate’s monthly volume reached $64.7 billion, up 158% month-on-month, bringing its market share to 12.6% and ranking it third globally.
This means that in the next phase, competition among CEXs will likely gradually expand from “crypto asset trading” to “global asset trading.” Stocks, indices, commodities, and tokenized assets could all become new sources of traffic.
Therefore, when evaluating Gate, we should not focus only on whether it is in the Top 4 today; more importantly, we should look at whether it can connect spot trading, futures, RWA, and more traditional assets. If its product boundaries continue to expand and users’ trading scenarios keep increasing, the platform’s competitiveness may also enter a new growth cycle.#Gate主流CEXTop4 .
