Gate August Transparency Report: The Numbers Behind Gate’s Rising Strength
When I evaluate a crypto exchange, I do not look only at rankings, promotions or headlines. I look at the numbers behind the platform: reserves, reserve coverage, liquidity, trading volume, open interest, capital flows, product expansion and ecosystem growth.
That is why Gate’s August 2026 Transparency Report deserves serious attention.
In my opinion, Gate is increasingly demonstrating what a strong global crypto platform should look like: transparent about important figures, aggressive in innovation, focused on liquidity and continuously expanding across different areas of digital finance.
The first number that stands out is Gate’s reported total reserves of approximately $8.215 billion, with an overall reserve ratio of 127%.
For me, this is one of the strongest parts of the report. Gate is not simply talking about transparency; it is providing measurable data that users can examine themselves.
The asset-level figures make the picture even more interesting.
Gate reported 27,550 BTC in reserves against 22,436 BTC of user holdings, representing a 22.79% excess reserve ratio.
For ETH, Gate reported 458,203 ETH in reserves against 375,429 ETH of user holdings, giving a 22.05% excess reserve ratio.
Combined USDT, USDC, USD1 and GUSD user holdings were approximately $1.578 billion, compared with approximately $1.761 billion in corresponding reserves, producing a 111.63% reserve ratio.
GT stood at a reported 131.15% reserve ratio, while XRP stood at 116.09%.
These numbers matter because users can look beyond one headline and examine coverage across individual major assets.
That is where I give Gate real credit: transparency becomes meaningful when users receive data they can study, compare and question.
But Gate’s August performance goes far beyond reserves.
According to the August data referenced by Gate, the platform reached approximately $9.5 billion in combined 24-hour spot and derivatives trading volume, placing it among the global Top 3 on that metric.
Open interest reached approximately $12.48 billion, also placing Gate among the global Top 3.
The monthly numbers are even more impressive.
CoinDesk’s August 2026 exchange review reported approximately $40 billion in Gate spot trading volume, representing a 4.49% market share, while derivatives trading volume reached approximately $287 billion.
That means Gate handled approximately $327 billion in combined spot and derivatives trading volume during August.
Approximately $327 billion in one month shows the scale of Gate’s trading ecosystem.
What impresses me most is that this growth is not concentrated in one market.
Gate is expanding across spot, derivatives, RWA perpetuals, stock perpetuals, ETFs, options, automated trading, Event Contracts and institutional services.
RWA perpetuals are a perfect example.
Gate reported approximately $64.7 billion in RWA perpetual trading volume during August, representing 158% month-over-month growth.
Its RWA perpetual market share increased from 5.32% to 12.6%, placing Gate third globally.
Even more notable, Gate reported approximately 49.6% of RWA perpetual open-interest market share, ranking first among global crypto exchanges.
This is a major development because RWA markets are becoming an increasingly important part of the next phase of digital finance.
Gate is not simply waiting for this trend to develop; it is actively competing in the segment.
Stock perpetual trading delivered another remarkable result, with 308% month-over-month growth and a third consecutive month of triple-digit growth.
Gate also expanded its TradFi ecosystem to more than 12,800 stock assets, including approximately 300 newly added Japanese stocks during August.
CFD coverage reached 680 trading pairs, while overall TradFi asset coverage exceeded 1,000 assets.
ETF products expanded to 408 trading pairs, with approximately $20 billion in reported trading volume.
To me, this shows Gate’s ambition clearly: the platform is moving beyond a narrow crypto-only model and building a broader financial ecosystem.
The automated trading ecosystem is also gaining traction.
Trading-bot users increased 3.3% month over month, while average daily bot trading volume increased 4.05%.
Spot Grid average daily volume increased 48%.
Contract Martingale average daily volume increased 36%.
AI-generated strategy volume increased 36.36%.
This suggests users are actively engaging with different automated trading tools rather than simply having access to them.
Event Contracts showed another huge jump.
Trading volume increased 286.09% month over month, while the number of traders increased 473.11%.
Options activity also strengthened, with August options trading volume reaching approximately 910 million USDT, up 36.6% month over month, while options premium volume increased approximately 189.1%.
Gate Swap trading volume increased 28.4%, while Perp DEX API trading volume increased 134%.
The institutional side is also developing.
Institutional spot trading volume increased approximately 21% month over month, while institutional futures trading volume increased approximately 8%.
CrossEx assets under management increased 143% month over month and reached a record high.
These figures matter because professional market participants generally pay close attention to liquidity, execution, infrastructure and market depth.
Capital flows provide another important perspective.
Gate recorded approximately $308.1 million in 30-day net inflows according to the reported August data, ranking second among major exchanges.
For me, this is particularly interesting because trading volume and capital flows tell different stories.
Volume shows activity.
Net inflows provide additional context about capital movement.
When approximately $308.1 million in 30-day net inflows is viewed alongside approximately $8.215 billion in reported reserves and a 127% overall reserve ratio, the transparency picture becomes much stronger.
GT is another part of the ecosystem worth watching.
Recent market data showed GT trading around the $9 level in early September, with September 11 data showing a close near $9.33 and market capitalization around $995 million.
However, strong platform growth does not guarantee token price appreciation. Crypto markets remain volatile, and I believe users should focus on fundamentals, liquidity, ecosystem development and risk management rather than chasing short-term price movements.
This is exactly why transparency reports matter.
Users should ask:
How large are the reserves?
What is the reserve ratio?
Are major assets covered above 100%?
How much spot and derivatives volume is being generated?
How deep is liquidity?
What is open interest doing?
Are capital inflows increasing?
Is institutional participation growing?
Are new markets attracting real activity?
Is the platform continuing to expand?
When I look at Gate’s August numbers through this lens, the story is impressive.
$8.215 billion reported reserves.
127% overall reserve ratio.
22.79% excess BTC reserves.
22.05% excess ETH reserves.
111.63% combined stablecoin reserve ratio.
131.15% GT reserve ratio.
116.09% XRP reserve ratio.
Approximately $40 billion August spot volume.
Approximately $287 billion August derivatives volume.
Approximately $327 billion combined spot and derivatives volume.
Approximately $9.5 billion reported 24-hour combined volume.
Approximately $12.48 billion open interest.
Approximately $64.7 billion RWA perpetual volume.
158% RWA perpetual growth.
12.6% RWA perpetual market share.
49.6% RWA perpetual open-interest market share.
308% stock perpetual growth.
Approximately $20 billion ETF trading volume.
36.6% monthly options volume growth.
286.09% Event Contract volume growth.
473.11% Event Contract trader growth.
134% Perp DEX API volume growth.
143% CrossEx AUM growth.
21% institutional spot volume growth.
8% institutional futures volume growth.
Approximately $308.1 million in 30-day net inflows.
When these figures are viewed together, Gate’s August performance becomes much more than a monthly update.
It becomes a story of scale, transparency, liquidity, innovation and diversification.
And this is the part of Gate’s performance I appreciate most.
Gate is not relying on one number to tell its story.
It is showing progress across reserves, trading activity, RWA markets, TradFi, institutional services, automated trading, options, Event Contracts and capital flows.
My personal view is that the real strength of a transparency report is not that it tells users what to believe.
It gives users the information needed to make their own assessment.
That is the kind of awareness the crypto community needs.
Do not simply look at the headline.
Open the report.
Study the reserve ratios.
Compare the numbers.
Watch liquidity.
Track volume and open interest.
Understand capital flows.
Follow ecosystem growth.
Then make your own informed decision.
For me, Gate’s August report stands out because it combines substantial reported reserves with strong trading activity and rapid expansion across multiple financial markets.
Transparency creates awareness.
Numbers create understanding.
Liquidity creates market depth.
Innovation creates new opportunities.
And consistent ecosystem expansion creates momentum.
Gate’s August 2026 Transparency Report brings these elements together in one powerful picture.
That is why I believe users should pay attention to the report, study the data and follow Gate’s continued development.
Gate is not simply competing for today’s market.
It is building toward a much broader financial ecosystem.
