After-hours gains are just the beginning; the guidance is the hidden bonus
Oracle’s after-hours rally following its better-than-expected Q1 results is driven not only by its performance over the past quarter, but also by management’s confidence in the future. The company reported Q1 revenue of $19.3 billion, up 30% year over year, while adjusted EPS reached $1.92; cloud revenue grew 62%, with cloud infrastructure revenue surging 121% year over year.
More interestingly, Oracle also raised its full-year guidance, expecting FY2027 revenue to reach at least $90 billion and adjusted EPS to rise to at least $8.10. Q2 revenue is expected to grow 30% to 34% year over year, while the cloud business is expected to maintain its rapid growth.
This explains why investors are willing to give it room to rise after hours: the market is not trading on “how much it earned this quarter,” but on whether it can maintain this growth rate over the next several quarters.
Of course, the risks are also clear—high capital expenditures, margin pressure, and competition in AI infrastructure are no small issues. But if demand for AI computing power remains strong, Oracle could leverage synergies among cloud infrastructure, databases, and AI services, gradually transforming from a traditional software giant into an important player in the AI infrastructure sector.
The real keyword in this earnings report is not “better than expected,” but “accelerating growth.”#甲骨文Q1业绩超预期盘后涨超5%
