Gate August 2026 Transparency Report: Strong Growth, 127% Reserve Ratio and Expanding Multi-Asset Financial Ecosystem
Gate’s August 2026 Transparency Report highlights a month of strong growth across trading, TradFi, derivatives, wealth management, institutional services, on-chain activity, and asset security. The report demonstrates how Gate continues to evolve beyond a traditional crypto exchange toward a broader multi-asset financial platform.
August was particularly important because Gate expanded its product coverage while simultaneously strengthening reserves, liquidity, institutional infrastructure, and global user services.
Here are the major highlights from the August 2026 Transparency Report.
1. Strong Trading Activity Across Global Markets
Gate maintained high trading activity throughout August.
According to the report, Gate recorded approximately $9.5 billion in 24-hour combined spot and derivatives trading volume, placing it among the global Top 3. Open interest reached approximately $12.48 billion, also ranking within the global Top 3.
Even more importantly, Gate recorded approximately $308.1 million in net inflows over 30 days, ranking Top 2 among major trading platforms.
These numbers demonstrate strong user participation, capital activity and market confidence across Gate’s trading ecosystem.
2. Stock Perpetual Trading Explodes 308%
One of the strongest growth areas in August was stock perpetual trading.
According to CryptoQuant data referenced in the report, Gate’s stock perpetual trading volume increased by an impressive 308% month over month.
This marked the third consecutive month of triple-digit growth, showing that demand for 24/7 exposure to traditional financial assets through crypto-native infrastructure continues to accelerate.
Gate is increasingly connecting traditional markets with digital-asset trading technology, giving users more ways to access global financial opportunities.
3. Gate RWA Perpetuals Reach Global Top 1
Real-world assets continued to become an important part of Gate’s derivatives ecosystem.
Gate’s RWA perpetual open interest reached approximately $378.8 million, representing 49.6% of the centralized-exchange market share according to CryptoRank data cited in the report.
This placed Gate at Global CEX Top 1 in RWA perpetual open interest.
The result highlights Gate’s strong position in the rapidly developing RWA sector, where traditional assets and blockchain-based financial products are increasingly converging.
4. TradFi Expansion Continues
Gate significantly expanded its traditional-finance product ecosystem during August.
The platform’s stock spot market expanded to more than 12,800 assets, while approximately 300 additional Japanese stocks were added.
Gate’s CFD ecosystem also expanded to approximately 680 trading pairs, while total TradFi asset coverage exceeded 1,000 assets.
Stock derivatives covered more than 360 underlying assets, giving users access to a broader range of traditional-market opportunities through a single platform.
5. ETF and Tokenized Stock Ecosystem
Gate also continued expanding its ETF and tokenized-stock offerings.
ETF products increased to approximately 408 trading pairs, with cumulative trading volume reaching around $20 billion.
Gate also continued developing gStocks, its 24/7 tokenized stock trading ecosystem. The number of gStocks trading pairs expanded from 15 at launch to 78 pairs.
The ecosystem also supports functions including collateralized borrowing, Gate Wealth, Unified Account and leveraged trading.
This creates a more flexible bridge between traditional financial markets and blockchain-based financial infrastructure.
6. Pre-IPO Opportunities Expand
Gate’s Pre-IPO ecosystem also continued to develop during August.
The platform added KIMI, providing users with another opportunity to participate in pre-IPO-related products.
The combination of Pre-IPOs, tokenized stocks, ETFs, CFDs and traditional spot stocks shows Gate’s ambition to create a diversified financial marketplace rather than focusing on only one asset class.
7. Options Trading Volume Up 36.6%
Derivatives activity continued to grow beyond perpetual contracts.
Gate’s options trading volume increased 36.6% month over month during August.
Options provide traders with additional tools for hedging, portfolio management and strategic market exposure.
The continued increase in options activity indicates that Gate’s derivatives ecosystem is becoming increasingly comprehensive for both experienced traders and professional market participants.
8. Event Contracts Surge 286.09%
Another major highlight was the rapid growth of Gate’s Event Contracts.
Trading volume for Event Contracts increased by an extraordinary 286.09% month over month.
This growth reflects rising demand for event-based market products and demonstrates Gate’s ability to introduce innovative trading formats beyond traditional spot and perpetual markets.
9. Perp DEX API Trading Grows 134%
Gate also reported strong growth in its Perp DEX API ecosystem.
Perp DEX API trading volume increased by approximately 134% during August.
API infrastructure is particularly important for professional traders, quantitative strategies, algorithmic trading and institutional users.
The growth shows increasing demand for efficient and flexible market-access infrastructure.
10. Institutional Business Shows Strong Momentum
Gate continued strengthening its institutional trading infrastructure.
Institutional spot trading volume increased by approximately 21% month over month, while institutional derivatives trading volume increased by around 8%.
Meanwhile, CrossEx assets under custody increased by approximately 143%, reaching another historical high.
Gate also continued improving institutional infrastructure through features such as isolated margin, USDC instant repayment, arbitrage opportunity displays and API services.
These developments strengthen Gate’s position among professional and institutional market participants.
11. Total Reserves Reach $8.215 Billion
One of the most important sections of the August report is asset security.
As of August 19, 2026, Gate’s total reserves reached approximately $8.215 billion.
The overall reserve ratio reached an impressive 127%, remaining significantly above the 100% full-reserve benchmark.
For users, reserve coverage is an important indicator of platform liquidity and asset backing.
Gate’s continued focus on Proof of Reserves and transparent reporting provides users with greater visibility into the platform’s financial foundation.
12. BTC Reserves Maintain More Than 20% Excess Coverage
Gate’s BTC reserves also strengthened.
User BTC assets increased from 21,557 BTC to 22,436 BTC, while Gate’s corresponding reserves increased from 26,775 BTC to 27,550 BTC.
This represented an excess reserve ratio of approximately 22.79%.
Maintaining more than 100% coverage means the platform held reserves exceeding the corresponding user assets, providing an additional liquidity buffer.
13. ETH Reserves Also Remain Strong
ETH showed a similar pattern.
User ETH assets increased from 374,348 ETH to 375,429 ETH, while corresponding platform reserves reached 458,203 ETH.
This represented an excess reserve ratio of approximately 22.05%.
Both BTC and ETH therefore maintained more than 20% excess reserve coverage in the August report.
14. Stablecoin Reserves Reach 111.63%
Gate’s stablecoin reserves also remained above full coverage.
Combined user assets across USDT, USDC, USD1 and GUSD increased to approximately $1.578 billion, while corresponding reserves reached approximately $1.761 billion.
The combined reserve ratio reached 111.63%, providing an additional coverage buffer.
The report also showed reserve ratios of approximately 131.15% for GT and 116.09% for XRP.
15. GUSD Reaches a New High
Gate’s GUSD ecosystem continued to expand.
GUSD supply reached a new historical high of approximately $257 million during August.
Gate also expanded its wealth-management products, adding 23 new projects to the Yu'ebao ecosystem.
In addition, Gate introduced Idle Treasure with annualized yields of up to 3%, providing users with another option for managing idle funds.
16. Global Community and Brand Expansion
August was not only about numbers and trading.
Gate continued investing in global community development through offline events, Gate Live, creator activities and industry engagement.
Gate participated in Coinfest Asia 2026 and organized related activities as a Summer Bay sponsor.
Through Gate Live and other content channels, Gate continued connecting with users, creators and industry participants around the world.
The company also continued strengthening its global brand presence and communication with the broader financial and blockchain industry.
Final Thoughts
Gate’s August 2026 Transparency Report presents a powerful picture of expansion, diversification and financial infrastructure development.
From $9.5 billion in 24-hour spot and derivatives volume and $12.48 billion in open interest to $308.1 million in 30-day net inflows, Gate maintained strong market activity.
At the same time, the platform expanded beyond crypto through more than 12,800 stock assets, approximately 680 CFD pairs, 408 ETF trading pairs, 78 gStocks pairs and a growing Pre-IPO ecosystem.
The security side is equally important. Gate reported $8.215 billion in total reserves and a 127% overall reserve ratio, with BTC and ETH maintaining more than 20% excess coverage.
August therefore represents more than another monthly performance update. It shows Gate’s continuing transformation into a multi-asset financial platform connecting crypto, TradFi, tokenized assets, derivatives, institutional trading and wealth management.
For users, traders, creators and investors, the August report demonstrates one clear direction: Gate is continuing to build a broader, deeper and more transparent financial ecosystem for the global market.
