Is it time to buy Dogecoin?
As the market recovers, Meme coins have been showing impressive gains recently: Niulai has risen more than 600% since listing on Gate, Lobster is up more than 200% today, and although Pons has recently pulled back, its gains have also been notable. New memes keep taking turns in the spotlight, but on the other hand, established memes have slumped. Doge, for example, has formed a double-top pattern on the daily chart and is struggling even to break above $0.09. So what is the outlook for Dogecoin, and can it be bought now? My view is: it is time to enter for the long term, while other coins are preferable for the short term.
📈 Recent Market Overview
Dogecoin has gained approximately 23% over the past 30 days and slipped 4.36% over the past 7 days, consolidating within the $0.08-$0.09 range overall. Its 24-hour trading volume reached $750 million, with market activity significantly higher than before. Futures speculation has recovered to October 2025 levels, with open interest reaching $1.21 billion, as the battle between bulls and bears continues to intensify.
Recently, Cleancore sold 463 million DOGE for approximately $33.4 million to fund AI infrastructure, creating some short-term selling pressure. However, on-chain data shows that retail investors and some institutional funds are still steadily buying at low levels, with the market overall in an accumulation phase ahead of a directional move.
📊 Key Technical Indicators
Moving Averages: The price is currently fluctuating within a narrow range between the 20-day moving average ($0.0817) and the 100-day moving average ($0.0815). The 50-day EMA at $0.078 provides support below, while the 200-day moving average ($0.0943) is a strong medium-term resistance level.
Oscillators: The daily RSI is currently 43.9, below the neutral level but not in the overbought or oversold zone, leaving ample room for further volatility. The KDJ indicator is currently in a death cross, with a value of 26, indicating some short-term rebound momentum.
Trend Pattern: The Bollinger Bands have contracted to their lowest level in nearly three years, with price volatility continuing to narrow. The triangular convergence pattern is set to break out in one direction during September. The long-term rising channel that previously supported a $15 target has been broken, and the technical basis for that extremely bullish target has disappeared.
MACD Indicator: DIF is 0.002, DEA is 0.003, and the MACD value is -0.002. Bullish and bearish momentum are broadly balanced, with no clear trend breakout signal having formed yet.
🎯 Key Support and Resistance Levels
Strong Support: $0.080, the 0.236 Fibonacci retracement level and the core defensive line of the current triangle pattern. A confirmed break below it would send the price down toward the low of $0.068.
Short-Term Support: $0.0787, where the 50-day EMA is located. Losing this level would completely undermine the short-term uptrend of the current rally.
Short-Term Resistance: $0.0868, the lower boundary of the weekly resistance zone and the upper boundary of the current descending channel. The price has tested it multiple times without achieving a confirmed breakout.
Medium-Term Resistance: $0.0943, where the 200-day moving average is located. A high-volume breakout would open up further upside potential, with the target at $0.1048.
⚠️ Investment Reference Recommendations
Long-term investors: As an established major altcoin, Dogecoin is heavily influenced by Bitcoin's performance. Last night’s CPI data release, after which an ETH rally drove DOGE higher as well, demonstrated this point. Against the backdrop of a returning bull market, Dogecoin will inevitably still have room to rise over the long term, so long-term investors can accumulate on dips.
Short-term investors: As mentioned above, Dogecoin is currently heavily influenced by major assets. Bitcoin is currently in a consolidation phase, so short-term Dogecoin trading should also focus on swing trading. Before the price breaks decisively above $0.087, blindly chasing higher prices is not recommended. If the price falls back to the $0.080-$0.082 range and finds clear support, a small position can be used to speculate on a rebound, with a stop-loss set below $0.078. $DOGE
