Gate August 2026 Transparency Report: When the Numbers Speak for Themselves

In the world of crypto, trust is the most expensive currency, and in August, Gate backed that trust not with words alone but with hard numbers. The August 2026 Transparency Report is a story that simultaneously brings the platform's financial strength, the solidity of its reserves, its trading liquidity, and the rapid evolution of its multi-asset business to the forefront. If this report had to be summarized in a single line, it would be this: Gate is not just operating, it is reinforcing its foundation in every direction.

Let us begin with Proof of Reserves, because that is the very base on which the entire claim of transparency stands. As of August 19, 2026, Gate's total reserves reached 8.215 billion dollars, with an overall reserve ratio of 127 percent. That is well above the 100 percent industry benchmark, and its direct meaning is that the platform holds 27 percent more reserves than all user funds combined. This is not just a number, it is the real strength that keeps withdrawals smooth even during market volatility and liquidity stress.

The detail on core assets is even more interesting. In the case of BTC, user holdings rose from 21,557 BTC in the previous report to 22,436 BTC, while Gate's own reserves climbed from 26,775 BTC to 27,550 BTC, producing an excess reserve ratio of 22.79 percent. Similarly for ETH, user holdings increased from 374,348 ETH to 375,429 ETH, while the platform's reserves grew from 456,798 ETH to 458,203 ETH, with an excess reserve ratio of 22.05 percent. What is worth noting here is that growth was not one-sided: both user holdings and platform reserves expanded together, which is a sign of organic and healthy growth rather than a one-sided show.

The stablecoin segment was no less impressive. Across USDT, USDC, USD1, and GUSD, total user assets rose from 1.336 billion dollars in the previous report to 1.578 billion dollars, while the platform's corresponding reserves climbed from 1.59 billion to 1.761 billion dollars. The aggregate reserve ratio stood at 111.63 percent with an excess reserve ratio of 11.63 percent. GT posted a reserve ratio of 131.15 percent and XRP reached 116.09 percent, both comfortably above the 100 percent benchmark. This entire dataset tells a single story: Gate did not just create a headline number, it maintained extra cushion across every asset class.

Now let us talk about liquidity and trading volume, which are the true lifeblood of any exchange. According to DefiLlama data, in August Gate's 24-hour total spot and derivatives trading volume reached approximately 9.5 billion dollars, placing it among the global Top 3 platforms. Open interest also climbed to 12.48 billion dollars, likewise securing a global Top 3 position. More than that, net capital inflows over the past 30 days reached 308.1 million dollars, ranking second among major platforms. This inflow figure is extremely important because it shows money is moving into the platform rather than out of it, and that is the most practical thermometer of trust.

Another highlight that I find the most fascinating part of this report is the dominance of RWA perpetual futures. According to CryptoRank data, Gate's RWA perpetual futures open interest reached 378.8 million dollars, accounting for 49.6 percent of the global centralized exchange market share, ranking first in this category. Likewise, CryptoQuant data shows that equity perpetual futures volume grew 308 percent month over month, marking the third consecutive month of triple-digit growth in this segment. These numbers prove that Gate has not only been active in crypto, but has also carved out a place in the world of equities, RWAs, and traditional assets, which is turning the exchange into a multi-asset financial platform.

The expansion of TradFi is also a special feature of this report. Gate's spot stock coverage surpassed 12,800 assets, and the platform officially entered the Japanese market, initially launching around 300 stocks listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Equity assets' cumulative trading volume crossed 2 billion dollars. Turning to CFDs, coverage expanded to 680 trading pairs, and total TradFi assets exceeded 1,000, including equity derivatives spanning more than 360 underlying assets. This is not just growth, it is a strategic direction that shows Gate is filling the gap between digital and traditional finance.

Looking at wealth management and derivatives, the momentum there is equally strong. Simple Earn listed 23 new projects and reached cumulative subscriptions of 1.626 billion dollars, while monthly TVL peaked at 1.624 billion dollars. Staking TVL hit a peak of 1.44 billion dollars, a 13.4 percent month-over-month increase. The GUSD pool size reached a new record of 257 million dollars. In derivatives, options trading volume reached approximately 910 million USDT, a 36.6 percent monthly increase, while premium volume surged by about 189.1 percent. Event Contract trading volume grew 286.09 percent and active traders grew 473.11 percent. Swap volume rose 28.4 percent and Perp DEX API volume jumped 134 percent. In institutional services, spot volume grew 21 percent and futures volume grew 8 percent month over month, while CrossEx asset size grew 143 percent to hit a new all-time high.

In my view, the biggest message of this report is that transparency is no longer just a compliance checkbox, it has become a competitive moat. Exchanges that put their reserves, liquidity, and business growth this openly on display do not just earn trust, they attract capital, and the 308 million dollars in net inflows is testimony to exactly that. A 127 percent reserve ratio, over 22 percent excess coverage in BTC and ETH, 49.6 percent global dominance in RWA futures, and three consecutive months of triple-digit growth in equity perpetuals all form a coherent picture: in August, Gate did not just publish a report, it delivered a secure and powerful snapshot of its long-term vision. In an era when market volatility is constantly knocking at the door, this kind of transparency is the visible proof that keeps users and investors attached to the platform.#weeklyshare
