China Mobile General Manager Chen Yangfan: Build a Strong Computing Power Infrastructure Moderately Ahead of Demand; Total AIDC Contracted Capacity Exceeds 7 GW

Mars Finance reported that at the opening ceremony and main forum of the 2026 China Computing Power Conference on September 12, China Mobile General Manager Chen Yangfan said that China Mobile will adhere to a moderately forward-looking approach and strengthen its computing power infrastructure.

The company will strengthen coordinated planning for computing power and focus on building a centralized, efficient, secure, controllable, green, and low-carbon computing power infrastructure system. It will strengthen AI data centers, align with the national “East Data, West Computing” project, develop gigawatt-scale data parks, innovate computing power–electricity coordination and computing power enclave operating models, and achieve a total signed AIDC capacity of more than 7GW.

China Mobile will strengthen the supply of intelligent computing capabilities, continuously optimize its intelligent computing layout featuring “centralized centers, ubiquitous edge facilities, and integrated training and inference,” accelerate the construction of inference clusters, deploy multiple intelligent computing centers with tens of thousands of GPUs and distributed inference networks, and ensure strong training stability and high inference production efficiency.

It will strengthen the computing power interconnection network, promote intelligent interconnection between computing resources and millisecond-level access to computing power, deploy the world’s first 400G OTN backbone network, build the world’s largest intelligent internet network (G-SRv6), and develop a three-tier low-latency computing power service network featuring 1ms within cities, 5ms within provinces, and 20ms nationwide.

Next, China Mobile will coordinate the construction of intelligent computing centers, accelerate its upgrade toward high-value-added operational services, and enhance the supply of high-quality, high-performance computing power. (Securities Times)
