A Foldable iPhone Is Coming? Apple’s Key Battle for a $5 Trillion Valuation
The biggest suspense surrounding Apple’s product launch is still the foldable iPhone.
If the rumors ultimately become reality, this could be Apple’s most obvious product-form change in recent years. After all, with regular iPhones only slightly upgrading performance, imaging, and battery life each year, it has become difficult to create a genuine “wow” moment for the market.
Foldables are different.
They not only change the form factor of smartphones but could also reopen growth opportunities in the high-end smartphone market. For Apple, if it can make a foldable phone mature enough and then leverage its ecosystem, brand, and supply-chain capabilities, it could indeed create a new replacement cycle.
More importantly, this is the first product launch since Ternus became CEO.
New CEOs often need to prove their strategic direction through products. If his debut delivers a truly distinctive new product, the market may be willing to grant Apple a higher valuation premium.
But conversely, if the new product offers no significant surprise, Apple’s $4.75 trillion market capitalization will face the test of “buy the rumor, sell the news.”
So I believe that whether Apple can reach $5 trillion in the short term depends not on sales, but on whether its new products can reignite the market’s imagination.
If the foldable becomes a hit, $5 trillion may only be a matter of time.
If it is just a different color and a different chip, then it is still the familiar Apple.#苹果发布会
