‌ is sliding – but the DeFi revival narrative might just save it from falling further!"

Uniswap is down -3.69% today to $6.743, after hitting a 24h high of $7.016 and a low of $6.565. The chart is showing weakness: EMA5 ($6.724) is above the current price, while EMA10 ($6.752) and EMA30 ($6.822) are also above – price is trading below all three, signaling short-term bearish pressure. MACD is negative at -0.006, with DIF (-0.049) below DEA (-0.043) – momentum is clearly to the downside. Volume is decent, with MA5 (201.56K) above MA10 (154.49K), but the overall trend is still bearish.

Here's the real story behind this move:

Uniswap is facing headwinds. The broader DeFi sector has been under pressure, and the "fee switch" debate is causing uncertainty. The Uniswap community has been discussing whether to activate the fee switch, which would divert a portion of trading fees to UNI token holders. While this could be positive for UNI in the long term, the uncertainty is weighing on the price.

Key catalysts:

· UBS launched Uniswap – the banking giant is now offering Uniswap exposure to its clients, which could bring institutional attention
· DeFi revival narrative – the decentralized finance sector is showing signs of life, which could benefit UNI in the medium term
· Uniswap's dominant market position – Uniswap remains the largest DEX by trading volume, with a solid moat in the DeFi ecosystem

But here's what concerns me:

· Resistance at $7.016 is holding firm – UNI has rejected this level multiple times
· The broader crypto market is choppy – UNI is still vulnerable to broader macro trends
· The fee switch debate is creating uncertainty – traders are waiting for clarity

Key levels to watch:

· Resistance: $7.016 (today's high), $7.194, and $7.50
· Support: $6.565 (today's low), $6.50 (psychological level)
· A break below $6.565 could trigger a drop to $6.50 and $6.00.

Trading Plan:

· Entry: $6.74 – $6.75
· Stop Loss: $6.90
· TP1: $6.50
· TP2: $6.30
· TP3: $6.10

The fee switch has been debated for so long and still hasn’t been implemented, while institutional capital has already come in. UBS’s move is quite clever. I’ll just place a 6.3 limit order and consider a stop-loss only if it falls below the previous low.

The technical picture is entirely green, but its position as the DEX leader remains unchanged. Once the narrative turns bullish, the rebound will likely be swift. It has tested the $7 resistance three times without breaking through, so consolidation and shakeout are more likely here. I’m choosing to stay on the sidelines.

UNI is in an awkward position, with all the EMAs overhead and the MACD forming a death cross, giving short-term bears the upper hand. However, if the DeFi recovery narrative really gains traction, nibbling at the bottom around 6.5 should be fine; the key is whether trading volume can keep up.
