Bet on market moves without buying stocks? Gate turns “expectations” directly into contracts this time
One of the most valuable things in the market is actually expectations.
When a company is about to release its earnings report, everyone guesses the results; when the U.S. stock market is about to release important data, everyone guesses the market’s reaction; when a certain stock is about to face a major event, investors start placing bets in advance.
The biggest significance of Gate’s global debut of stock event contracts lies in turning these market expectations, which could previously only be discussed, into event trading that can be directly participated in.
I believe this model is particularly suitable for short-term traders.
That’s because event contracts do not necessarily require you to hold a particular stock for the long term, but instead focus on making a judgment about a clear outcome. If you are right, your returns come from that judgment; if you are wrong, you also need to bear the corresponding risk.
This essentially expands trading from “which asset to buy” to “what do you think will happen next.”
Of course, don’t assume that making money is easy just because the rules are simple.
The more popular the event, the faster the market is often priced in; the real opportunities are instead hidden in information gaps and expectation gaps.
So before participating, be sure to understand the event rules, settlement conditions, and potential risks.
Stock trading competes on fundamentals; event trading competes on expectations.
The trading market of the future may increasingly resemble a giant “opinion voting machine.”
The question is, can your judgment beat the market#Gate全球首发股票事件合约
