Apple's September 9 Event: Foldable iPhone Ultra Takes Center Stage
Apple's highly anticipated "Surprise and Shine" keynote on September 9, 2026, marks new CEO John Ternus's first major product launch and is expected to be Apple's biggest event in years. The headline reveal is Apple's first foldable smartphone, widely expected to be named the iPhone Ultra. According to reports, the book-style foldable device features a 7.8-inch inner display alongside a 5.3-inch outer cover screen, with a design similar to the horizontally wider Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8. The device is expected to start at approximately $2,000and will be around the size of a passport when closed, featuring only two camera lenses—a regular and an ultra-wide lens. The iPhone 18 is reportedly delayed to 2027, making the foldable Ultra and two Pro models the centerpieces of this event. This launch represents a pivotal moment for Apple as it enters the foldable smartphone market dominated by Samsung since 2019.
