MSCI Nordic Index Rises 0.2% to 403.67 Points; Boliden Rallies 6.3%

The MSCI Nordic Index advanced 0.2% to close at 403.67 points on Monday, with the Nordic industrial sector posting the largest gains among the ten sectors tracked. Boliden AB surged 6.3% to lead the Nordic stock rally, driven by copper prices hitting an all-time high on the London Metal Exchange. The rally in copper prices reflects strong global demand for industrial metals amid ongoing infrastructure spending and the energy transition. The MSCI Nordic Index, which tracks equity performance across Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, has benefited from the region's strong industrial and mining sectors. Boliden, a Swedish mining and smelting company, was the standout performer, with its shares climbing sharply as copper prices reached record levels. The index's performance highlights the continued strength in Nordic equities despite broader global market uncertainty.

Nordic markets such as Iceland and Norway usually receive little attention, but their industrial and mining sectors are genuinely solid. Boliden’s 6.3% gain shows that capital is seeking certainty.
