🇺🇸 Just in: Senate Republicans warned that the crypto market structure bill could fail next week due to unresolved ethics rules, according to Semafor.

What are “ethics rules” supposed to mean? In plain English, it means they haven’t agreed on how to divide the interests! Now they’re waiting to see who backs down first, while giving the market a little shake in the meantime!

Just rambling, for reference only.

It’s the same old script: “ethical rules” is just a respectable way of putting it—the real reason is that the terms couldn’t be agreed on.

Saying the interests weren’t negotiated properly is a bit too blunt, haha, but it’s true.

Fine, the market is already numb anyway; expectations of failure are half priced in.

This kind of “may fail” warning is usually pressure before negotiations; just get used to it.
