JPN225 is showing a more cautious tone after Monday’s strong rally, when the Nikkei 225 jumped more than 2% and closed near 66,400.
The recent strength has been supported by strong semiconductor and technology stocks, keeping Japan’s AI and chip-related theme firmly in focus. However, the stronger Japanese yen is now creating some pressure on exporters and overall market sentiment.
For traders, the 66,000 area is an important level to watch. Holding above this zone could keep the broader bullish structure intact, while a break below it may bring some short term profit taking.
On the upside, the recent high around 66,700 is the first major level to watch. A sustained breakout above this area could signal renewed momentum toward fresh highs.
Another major catalyst is the Bank of Japan. Stronger Q2 GDP and a 2.4% year-on-year rise in real wages have increased expectations of a possible rate hike, while the yen has strengthened to its highest level against the dollar since February.
For JPN225 traders, the key factors are simple: watch the yen, semiconductor stocks, BOJ expectations and price action around 66,000 to 66,700.
The long term trend remains interesting, but volatility can increase quickly when currency and central-bank expectations shift.
