This booster, named B1088, has flown 19 times, while SpaceX’s own reuse record is 37 flights.
Here are some numbers for you: So far in 2026, SpaceX has launched Falcon rockets 105 times, 80 of them Starlink missions;
its boosters have been successfully recovered 659 times in total;
and there are more than 11,000 Starlink satellites in orbit.
That’s more than the total number of launches during the first 50 years of the human space age.
Other companies build rockets as scientific research projects; SpaceX builds rockets on an assembly line.
Back then, when Musk said rockets should be reused repeatedly like airplanes, the entire industry treated it as a joke. Now that joke has become the industry standard.
