A short-term weekend trade—my BTC 1-hour event contract entry plan

First, let’s review yesterday’s trade: Before the NFP data was released last night, I took a small bullish position on a BTC 1-hour contract, betting on favorable data. As a result, the NFP data came in unexpectedly bearish and the market plunged, leaving my position at a loss. Fortunately, the position was relatively small, so there isn’t much to say in summary: “Don’t bet on data!”

Today, the market consolidated at low levels, moving sideways like a straight line throughout the day with little to offer. I expect some movement tonight. To make up for yesterday’s loss, I plan to take a small short-term position and trade another 1-hour event contract. The entry plan is as follows:

My betting logic and reasoning:

1. Bitcoin’s broader trend: Primarily a rebound

Yesterday’s decline was caused by a sudden bearish news event. The market briefly fell below 79000 but quickly recovered, indicating relatively strong buying support. The uptrend has not been broken, so the market should primarily rebound from here, with a high probability that the rebound will occur overnight.

2. Bitcoin’s short-term outlook: Primarily upward

On the 1-hour chart, the price has been steadily rising with support from the MA60 moving average, and the trend has not been disrupted.

3. News: No particularly bearish or bullish developments over the weekend

There are no data releases or official speeches from the Federal Reserve over the weekend. There has also been no latest news from the US-Iran battlefield.

4. Entry timing: The current event contract period has only been underway for 9 minutes, leaving nearly 1 hour of buffer time before settlement, providing ample time to observe the market and take profit or stop loss.
