#Gate60MillionUsers
60 MILLION USERS IS NOT JUST A NUMBER — IT IS A SIGNAL OF HOW FAST THE GLOBAL DIGITAL FI upNANCIAL LANDSCAPE IS CHANGING.
Gate has officially surpassed 60 million registered users worldwide, marking one of the most important milestones in the platform’s global expansion. For a crypto platform, reaching this scale is not simply about adding another zero to a user counter. It represents years of product development, market expansion, infrastructure building, community growth and the gradual transformation of a crypto-focused platform into a broader digital financial ecosystem.
The real question is not simply, “How did Gate reach 60 million users?”
The more important question is:
What does 60 million users mean for the next stage of Gate’s growth?
And this is where the milestone becomes much more interesting.
Gate’s latest expansion shows that the company is no longer positioning itself around crypto trading alone. Its ecosystem now covers digital assets, stocks, ETFs, wealth management, payments, wallets, Web3 applications and emerging asset categories such as Real-World Assets, foreign exchange, metals and commodities.
According to Gate’s official announcement, the platform currently supports more than 5,000 digital assets and more than 12,800 stocks and ETFs. That breadth is important because the financial market is becoming increasingly interconnected.
Users increasingly want access to multiple markets without having to move between completely different platforms.
Crypto.
Stocks.
ETFs.
Payments.
Web3.
On-chain applications.
Asset management.
The direction is clear: the boundaries between traditional finance and digital finance are becoming less rigid.
Gate’s 60-million-user milestone should therefore be viewed as part of a much larger transition.
It is the transition from being primarily a crypto trading destination toward becoming a broader, multi-asset financial ecosystem.
WHY 60 MILLION MATTERS
A large registered user base creates something extremely valuable for a financial platform: network scale.
Every new product can potentially be introduced to a much larger existing audience.
Every improvement in infrastructure can potentially benefit more users.
Every new asset category can potentially increase the number of use cases inside the ecosystem.
But there is also an important distinction that should not be ignored:
60 million registered users does not automatically mean 60 million active traders.
This is an important point when analyzing the milestone objectively.
The quality of growth matters just as much as the quantity of growth.
The next stage will depend on how effectively Gate converts its enormous registered-user base into active participation across trading, investing, payments, Web3, wallets and other services.
If user activity continues growing alongside the registered population, the strategic value of the 60-million milestone becomes significantly stronger.
That is why I believe the next metric to watch is not simply the number of registered accounts.
It is user engagement, trading activity, product adoption, retention and ecosystem participation.
FROM CRYPTO EXCHANGE TO MULTI-ASSET PLATFORM
One of the most interesting aspects of Gate’s development is the expansion beyond traditional crypto products.
The platform says it now supports more than 12,800 stocks and ETFs in addition to more than 5,000 digital assets.
This represents a significant strategic shift.
The financial user of the future may not think in terms of “crypto investor” or “stock investor.”
They may simply think:
I want access to financial markets.
That change in user behavior could become increasingly important.
A user may hold Bitcoin while also following technology stocks.
Another user may use stablecoins for payments while exploring Web3 applications.
Someone else may want exposure to ETFs, digital assets and tokenized real-world assets within the same broader financial environment.
The platforms capable of connecting these different experiences could have a major advantage.
Gate appears to be positioning itself for exactly this environment.
THE TRADFI EXPANSION IS IMPORTANT
Gate’s expansion into traditional financial markets deserves particular attention.
Recent Gate reporting highlighted the platform’s growing TradFi coverage, including 1,022 TradFi assets as of August 24, 2026, according to RootData Research’s 2026 Crypto & TradFi Landscape Report. Gate reported that this was around 4.2 times the coverage of the second-ranked platform in that comparison.
That does not automatically mean Gate will dominate traditional finance.
However, it demonstrates the scale of the company’s ambition.
The strategy appears to be moving toward a world where crypto and traditional assets can coexist within one ecosystem.
This is strategically important because the next wave of financial adoption may not come from separating crypto from traditional finance.
It may come from integrating them.
SECURITY AND RESERVES CANNOT BE IGNORED
Growth alone is not enough for a financial platform.
As the number of users increases, expectations around security, transparency and asset protection become even more important.
Gate reported that as of August 19, 2026, its total reserves reached approximately $8.215 billion, with an overall reserve ratio of 127%, covering nearly 500 types of user assets.
Gate also reported excess reserve ratios of 22.79% for BTC and 22.05% for ETH.
These figures are important because the conversation around centralized exchanges has increasingly moved beyond trading volume and product variety.
Users want to know whether platforms are transparent.
They want to understand how reserves are managed.
They want stronger security infrastructure.
And they want confidence that an exchange can operate responsibly during both normal markets and periods of extreme volatility.
A large user base increases this responsibility.
The bigger the platform becomes, the more important transparency becomes.
THE ROLE OF WEB3, AI AND PAYMENTS
Another part of Gate’s strategy that deserves attention is the expansion of its ecosystem around products such as Gate Wallet, Gate Pay and Gate AI.
This reflects a broader industry trend.
Crypto is gradually moving from being something people simply buy and sell toward becoming infrastructure for applications, payments, digital ownership and financial services.
Wallets can become gateways to Web3.
Payments can connect digital assets with real-world commerce.
AI can potentially simplify market research, portfolio management and financial interaction.
And decentralized applications can create new forms of financial utility.
The strongest platforms of the future may therefore not be defined by one product.
They may be defined by how well their products work together.
That is the ecosystem question Gate now faces.
60 MILLION USERS ALSO CREATES A BIGGER RESPONSIBILITY
There is another side to this milestone that deserves attention.
When a platform reaches tens of millions of registered users, its responsibility increases significantly.
More users mean more traders with different levels of experience.
Some understand market volatility.
Others may be completely new.
Some understand leverage and liquidation.
Others may not fully understand the risks.
This means education, risk management, transparent communication and responsible product design become increasingly important.
Crypto remains a high-risk market.
Bitcoin can move sharply.
Altcoins can experience extreme volatility.
Leverage can magnify both gains and losses.
New financial products can introduce risks that inexperienced users may underestimate.
Therefore, the next phase of industry growth should not simply be about attracting more users.
It should be about helping users become better-informed users.
That is a much more sustainable form of growth.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR GT?
Naturally, a major platform milestone also raises questions about GateToken and the wider Gate ecosystem.
A larger platform can create a larger potential user base for ecosystem products.
More products can create more potential utility.
Greater ecosystem activity can potentially strengthen the importance of the platform’s native infrastructure.
But we should be careful here.
60 million users does not automatically mean that GT must increase in price.
That would be an overly simplistic conclusion.
The more useful way to analyze the situation is through fundamentals.
Does user growth translate into greater activity?
Does ecosystem expansion create additional utility?
Does the platform continue increasing product adoption?
Does GT maintain or expand its practical role within the ecosystem?
Does supply-side tokenomics continue to support long-term scarcity?
These are much more meaningful questions than simply looking at the headline user number.
A strong ecosystem can create stronger fundamentals, but market prices are influenced by many variables, including liquidity, sentiment, macroeconomic conditions, Bitcoin’s trend, market cycles and overall risk appetite.
THE NEXT 100 MILLION WILL BE HARDER
Reaching 60 million is impressive.
But the journey from 60 million to the next major milestone may be even more challenging.
Early growth can come from entering new markets, attracting new users and expanding product coverage.
At larger scale, the challenge becomes different.
It becomes about retention, trust, infrastructure, compliance, security, user experience and sustainable ecosystem growth.
A platform serving millions of people cannot afford weak infrastructure.
It cannot ignore security.
It cannot stop innovating.
And it cannot assume that users will remain loyal simply because they joined once.
The financial industry is extremely competitive.
Users have more choices than ever.
Therefore, Gate’s next chapter will depend on whether it can turn its current scale into long-term user value.
THE BIGGER INDUSTRY TREND
There is a much bigger story behind the 60-million-user milestone.
The financial world is moving toward convergence.
Crypto is becoming more connected to traditional finance.
Tokenization is expanding.
Stablecoins are becoming increasingly relevant to digital payments.
Web3 is evolving.
AI is becoming integrated into financial applications.
And investors increasingly expect access to multiple asset classes from digital platforms.
This means the competition of the future may not simply be:
Exchange A vs Exchange B.
It may become:
Which financial ecosystem can provide the best combination of access, liquidity, security, technology, products, transparency and user experience?
That is a much bigger competition.
And Gate’s 60-million-user milestone suggests that the company intends to compete at that level.
MY VIEW
I see the 60 million milestone as more than a celebration.
I see it as a checkpoint.
It proves that Gate has built substantial global reach.
But the real test starts now.
Can Gate maintain user trust as it scales?
Can it continue expanding products without sacrificing simplicity?
Can it connect crypto and TradFi in a way that genuinely improves the user experience?
Can it continue strengthening security and transparency?
Can it transform registered users into active, long-term ecosystem participants?
But the strategy behind the milestone is even more important.
60 million users is not the finish line.
It is the beginning of the next chapter.**
