Mars Finance reported that on September 3, according to market data from BIT (bit.com), U.S.-listed Tesla (TSLA) rose more than 5% in early trading. Tesla’s Cybercab launch event will be held tonight local time in Austin, Texas. This moment will become an important milestone in assessing the commercialization of Tesla’s autonomous driving technology.

Morgan Stanley noted in its latest research report that the event’s significance far exceeds that of any previous product event. The large-scale expansion of an unsupervised Robotaxi fleet will directly determine the direction of Tesla’s stock price for the rest of the year. Data from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) shows that Tesla has recently registered approximately 45 Cybercabs for commercial operations, leading the bank to hold positive expectations for tonight’s launch event.

If Tesla can successfully deploy 25 to 50 Cybercabs in Texas for paid passenger services within days to weeks after the launch event, the stock price is expected to react positively. Conversely, if the event remains limited to a small-scale supervised retail demonstration without any substantive deployment of an unsupervised fleet, the stock price is expected to come under pressure and retreat after the event.

DMV data is more reliable than the launch event—just watch whether Cybercabs are actually taking rides on Austin’s streets to know if it’s merely a show of strength or a real launch.

45 vehicles is too few; even if all of them are deployed in Texas, it would only be a small pilot, and the stock price volatility is likely to be driven more by sentiment than fundamentals.

Morgan Stanley is hyping it aggressively; the stock bet hinges entirely on whether Musk can turn the PPT into orders within weeks.

How much are the four characters “unsupervised fleet” worth? Autonomous driving accounts for too much of Tesla’s valuation; this milestone is a bet on faith being realized.

Is Cybercab really going commercial this time? 45 registered, 25–50 carrying paying passengers—the numbers look modest, but if it’s truly unsupervised, the significance is indeed different.
