The launch of options is just the beginning: will Gate continue expanding next?

Gate’s U.S. stock options have officially launched, but I think what is truly worth anticipating is not the first batch of 9 stocks.
Because judging from Gate’s product roadmap over the past year, it is clearly shifting from “adding more cryptocurrencies” to “adding more asset classes.”
This first batch of U.S. stock options covers Nvidia, Tesla, Apple, Meta, AMD, Micron, Amazon, Alphabet, and Broadcom.
These underlying assets are almost all major companies in the current U.S. technology and AI industry chain.
Gate had already expanded its stock offerings to include U.S., Hong Kong, and South Korean stocks, and provides access to more than 10k U.S. stocks, ETFs, and other assets.
So from a product perspective, the launch of U.S. stock options looks more like the final important piece of the puzzle.
With stocks, users can go long.
With stock perpetuals, users can go long or short.
Now, with options added, traders have even more ways to express their views on the market.
But whether Gate will expand the range of underlying assets and add more expiries and strategies is what will be worth watching over the long term.
Because in a truly mature options market, the core has never been simply “whether options are available,” but rather the breadth of underlying assets, liquidity, quote quality, and risk-management capabilities.
For Gate, this is both a product opportunity and a test of its capabilities.
After all, allowing users to trade options is not difficult; what is truly difficult is enabling them to enjoy a stable, transparent, and reliable trading experience even amid extreme volatility.
So I would rather view this launch as a signal:
Gate is gradually moving from a “crypto asset trading platform” toward a “multi-asset trading platform.”
