#U.S.StrikesIranBTCDips U.S. Strikes Iran
Renewed U.S.-Iran military clashes triggered a brief risk-off move across global markets, with Bitcoin dipping below $78,000 before recovering some of its losses. U.S. forces struck Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz, while Iran retaliated with missile attacks on U.S. bases in the region.
Bitcoin touched roughly $77,000–$77,200, while oil prices surged as investors worried about disruption to the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude climbed above $90 per barrel, adding fresh inflation concerns.
Despite the geopolitical shock, BTC showed notable resilience. It remained around $78,000 and was still on track for a 24%+ monthly gain in August, its strongest month since 2017.
Derivatives markets, however, showed increased risk. More than $431 million in crypto liquidations occurred over 24 hours, including about $100 million in Bitcoin positions.
The immediate outlook depends on whether tensions escalate further. Traders are likely to monitor oil prices, Fed policy expectations and geopolitical developments closely.
