#GateLaunchesJapaneseStockTrading Gate has officially launched Japanese stock trading, marking a significant expansion of its one-stop global asset trading platform. This industry-first integration brings stocks listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange directly onto the Gate ecosystem, allowing users worldwide to access one of Asia’s most important equity markets without traditional barriers.

On 21 August 2026, Gate announced the rollout of Japanese equity trading through its Gate Stocks service. The initial offering includes approximately 300 stocks listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, primarily from the Prime Market. These stocks were carefully selected based on market capitalization, liquidity, and investor interest. Featured names include Toyota Motor (7203.P), Sony Group (6758.P), SoftBank Group (9984.P), Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (8306.P), Nintendo (7974.P), and Tokyo Electron (8035.P). The selection spans key sectors of the Japanese economy such as automotive manufacturing, consumer electronics and entertainment, internet and investment holdings, financial services, gaming, and semiconductor equipment. Gate has stated that coverage will continue to expand according to market demand, giving users access to a broader range of quality assets over time.

A major advantage of this launch is the simplified access model. Users can trade Japanese stocks directly using USDT. There is no requirement to open a separate traditional Japanese brokerage account, and there is no need to convert funds into Japanese yen manually. This approach enables seamless participation for crypto-native traders while unifying the management of digital assets and traditional equities within a single account structure. Stock prices, position values, and profit-and-loss figures are displayed in Japanese yen to reflect the underlying market accurately, while all trading funds and fees settle in USDT according to platform rules.

Trading functionality aligns with Gate’s existing services for US, Hong Kong, and Korean stocks. Users share the same stock account and can perform standard operations including viewing real-time market data, placing buy and sell orders, closing positions, modifying or canceling orders, managing holdings, and reviewing transaction history. Japanese stock trading follows the Tokyo Stock Exchange schedule. Intraday sessions run from 09:00 to 11:30 and 12:30 to 15:25 Japan Standard Time, corresponding to 00:00 to 02:30 and 03:30 to 06:25 UTC. New orders are not accepted during the midday break or after the market closes.

This launch builds on Gate’s rapid expansion in traditional finance offerings. Since introducing stock trading services in June 2026, the platform has integrated four major global equity markets—US, Hong Kong, South Korea, and now Japan—in under three months. The addition of Japanese stocks further positions Gate as a comprehensive multi-asset venue where users can diversify across cryptocurrencies and international equities from one interface. The service is currently available on the Gate web platform, with mobile app support expected to follow shortly.

To mark the launch, Gate introduced a limited-time promotional campaign running from 21 August 2026 at 04:00 UTC to 3 September 2026 at 04:00 UTC. Participants can earn rewards by completing their first Japanese stock trade, holding eligible stocks, accumulating trading volume, or taking part in a top-gainer prediction activity. Specific rewards include allocations of shares in companies such as Sony Group, Nintendo, and Toyota Motor, subject to eligibility and campaign limits.

The strategic importance of adding Japanese equities is clear. Japan hosts globally recognized corporations across industries that drive technological innovation, manufacturing excellence, and consumer culture. Corporate governance reforms in recent years have encouraged improved capital efficiency and higher shareholder returns, increasing international investor interest. By removing friction around account setup and currency conversion, Gate makes this market more accessible to a broader audience of digital asset holders seeking portfolio diversification.

In practical terms, a user logs into Gate, navigates to the Japanese Stocks section under TradFi Stocks, transfers USDT from a Spot or Unified Account into the Stock Account, and begins trading selected TSE-listed shares during market hours. All activity remains within the familiar Gate environment, supporting efficient capital allocation and risk management across asset classes.

This development underscores Gate’s commitment to building a truly global trading platform. By combining the speed and accessibility of crypto markets with exposure to established equity markets, the platform offers traders and investors a powerful tool for navigating both traditional and digital finance. As coverage of Japanese stocks grows and additional features arrive on mobile, users will gain even greater flexibility to participate in one of the world’s leading equity exchanges. The launch represents a concrete step toward seamless multi-market investing, delivered with the transparency and operational efficiency that Gate users expect.
