My Simple Research Process for Event Contracts

If I am looking at an Event Contract, I prefer to follow a simple process instead of making a decision immediately.

First, I read the contract carefully and make sure I understand exactly what is being predicted. The deadline and settlement conditions are also important because they determine how the final outcome will be decided.

Next, I look at the current market probability. I don't treat the percentage as a guarantee. Instead, I use it as a starting point and try to understand why the market is pricing the outcome that way.

After that, I check recent news and developments related to the event. If something important has changed, the current probability may not tell the whole story.

Then I consider both outcomes. I ask myself what could make my prediction correct and, more importantly, what could make it wrong.

Finally, I think about the risk before making any decision. If I cannot clearly explain the reasoning behind a prediction, I would rather wait and do more research.

My process is basically:

Understand → Research → Check Probability → Compare Outcomes → Manage Risk → Decide

I think this approach makes Event Contracts more interesting because it turns a simple prediction into a research and decision-making exercise.
