Nvidia has once again proven that demand for AI computing power has yet to peak with a set of results that comprehensively exceeded expectations. In the second quarter of fiscal 2027 (ended July 26, 2026), the company posted revenue of $96.22 billion, up 106% year over year and 18% quarter over quarter, significantly above the market expectation of $92.17 billion. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $2.22, $0.12 above market expectations. Data center revenue was $89 billion, up 117% year over year and likewise exceeding the market expectation of $85.86 billion.

These figures are already rare for the industry, but what truly triggered a market repricing was Nvidia’s first-ever performance guidance issued a full year in advance. The company expects fiscal 2028 revenue to grow by approximately 70%, while Wall Street’s previous average expectation was only 44%. According to Gate stock quotes, the stock rose as much as 5% in after-hours trading following the earnings release and was up approximately 4.7% in after-hours trading as of press time.
Source: Gate stock quotes On the basis of revenue already approaching $400 billion (the market forecast for fiscal 2027), 70% growth would mean fiscal 2028 revenue could reach approximately $673 billion— 규모 that would surpass Apple and Alphabet, propelling Nvidia to become the second-largest U.S. technology company by revenue, behind only Amazon, whose business is primarily retail.
