A Small Trick to Prevent Losses from Snowballing—Set an Exit Limit
A mindset habit that can help you go further is setting a strict “exit limit” for yourself. Agree with yourself in advance: open no more than 5 event contracts per day, and immediately close the software and stop trading after 3 consecutive losing trades that day; if your daily account loss reaches 8% of your total capital, exit and rest immediately, no matter how many good opportunities seem to come afterward. After a series of losses, a person’s judgment deteriorates sharply. Forcing yourself to stay in the market and trade will only lead to more mistakes. At times like this, stepping away and calming down for a few hours can help you preserve more capital than gritting your teeth and continuing to place trades.
Event contracts are essentially a form of mental training for traders. You do not need to win every trade; you only need to control your impulses when emotions run high, stay grounded during winning streaks, and avoid falling apart during losing streaks. Do that, and you can outperform 90% of traders. After all, in crypto trading, staying steadily at the table is more important than making quick money in the short term.
