$5B USDC Minted on Solana

Circle reportedly minted around $5 billion USDC on Solana over the past week.
That’s a notable liquidity signal, but I wouldn’t automatically call it bullish for crypto prices.
New USDC supply means more stablecoin liquidity is available on-chain. The bigger question is where that liquidity actually goes trading, DeFi, payments, or simply staying idle.
For me, the mint is worth watching, but USDC issuance alone doesn’t guarantee a market rally.
The next signal is how this liquidity gets deployed.

I mostly agree—don’t rush to call for buys. USDC issuance is indeed common in bull markets, but what matters more is where the money ultimately goes. If it’s just sitting there earning interest, it’s a dud for the market.

This is a fairly sober view: sufficient liquidity doesn’t mean money will go buy coins; there are also quite a few cases now where stablecoins are sitting idle on-chain.
