I’d like to see whether Ethereum starts to panic. Visa’s settlement is only on the order of seconds; if Solana really achieves 200ms, traditional finance will have to reassess public blockchains.

From a user experience perspective, a difference of a few hundred milliseconds is barely noticeable, but for high-frequency trading and on-chain market makers, it can be a matter of survival. Solana cutting its mainnet slot time to 350ms, with plans to reduce it further to 200ms, shows that the team is genuinely working on the underlying infrastructure rather than just shouting slogans. However, centralization risks also need to be considered, and performance and security must be properly balanced.
