Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad — I’m backing Real Madrid for this one.

I think Madrid have a really good chance to get another win here. They already started the season with a 2-1 win away against Espanyol, and now they are finally playing their first home game of the league season at the Santiago Bernabeu.

This match is also special because it will be Jose Mourinho’s first home league game back at the Bernabeu. Real Madrid have a lot of attacking quality with Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham. Mbappe is obviously the player I’m watching the most. If Madrid create enough chances, I can see him getting on the scoresheet.

Real Sociedad started their season with a 1-0 loss against Real Betis, so they will be looking for a reaction. Mikel Oyarzabal is the player Madrid need to watch, but Sociedad have also had some fitness concerns.

The history between these two teams also makes me lean towards Madrid. Real Madrid have not lost to Sociedad in their last eight meetings.

So for me, home advantage plus the attacking quality of Madrid should be enough.

My prediction: Real Madrid 2-0 Real Sociedad.

Who do you think scores first, Mbappe or Vinicius?

Come on, Real Madrid! I already thought Mbappé was a big-game player when he was at Paris, and after returning to the Bernabéu, he’ll definitely want to prove himself. Those Real Sociedad defenders are only average in terms of speed, so once Mbappé gets running, it’s over. I’ll be bold with my score prediction: 3-0, with Mbappé scoring twice.

Real Sociedad lost in the opening round and have been in average form, while Real Madrid also have home advantage, so I believe Real Madrid will edge this one. However, Oyarzabal still needs to be watched closely—don’t let him sneak one in.

The record of eight unbeaten meetings looks intimidating, but football is round. Real Madrid are at home at the Bernabéu, and it’s also Mourinho’s first match since returning, so the players will definitely give it their all. A 2-0 prediction seems reasonable; if Mbappé scores a penalty, it would be even more perfect, haha.

Although I also fancy Real Madrid, 2-0 is a bit optimistic—Real Sociedad's defense actually isn't bad. It might just be 1-0 or 2-1, and it’s more realistic for Bellingham or Vinicius to score first. Mbappe still needs to adapt to La Liga, so don’t hype him up too much.
