Young Ju Points to “Newbie Capitulation”

CryptoQuant founder Ki Young Ju says that “newbie capitulation” can represent the final stage of a bear market.
His observation focuses on market behavior rather than simply price. He pointed to rising Coinbase volume dominance while the Coinbase premium remains negative as an interesting signal to watch.
The idea is that newer market participants may be losing confidence and selling during prolonged weakness, while broader market positioning is still cautious.
But one signal doesn’t confirm a market bottom.
Crypto markets can remain weak longer than expected, and indicators should be viewed alongside liquidity, sentiment, on-chain data and macro conditions.
For me, the interesting part is the behavior behind the chart not just the price itself.
Market signals can provide context, but they are not guarantees. DYOR.

Coinbase’s premium is negative, but its share of trading volume is rising—quite a subtle combination. However, relying solely on this to call a bottom is overly optimistic; until macro liquidity turns around, it’s all just guessing at a bottom on the left side. DYOR.

Newcomers capitulating doesn’t necessarily mark the bottom, but sentiment is definitely worth watching.
