I’m watching $BTC

That move from the $76.6k area was strong, but price just ran straight into resistance near $79.4k and got rejected pretty quickly. After a sharp push like this, I usually don’t like chasing longs into the top of the move.

For me, the key zone now is $79,000–$79,400. If BTC keeps struggling there and starts losing momentum on the lower timeframes, a pullback setup starts to look more interesting.

Entry: $78,950–$79,300

Targets:
TP1: $78,050
TP2: $77,200
TP3: $76,650

SL: Above $79,500

This is more of a fade setup after an aggressive run, not a blind short. If buyers reclaim $79.4k cleanly, then this idea is invalid and BTC probably pushes higher.

Personally, I’d rather wait for weakness around resistance than force the trade in the middle. If sellers defend this area again, a cool-off move would make sense.

This idea works; if 79.4k holds, it’s just a shorting opportunity.

Short order placed at 79.3, with a stop-loss above 50K. No major issue.

Study the reversal zone at 79–79.4K.

I like this fade setup—just keep your hands off and wait for the signal.

The market sentiment feels too overheated now, with everyone calling for a bull market, so we should be cautious at levels like these. The OP’s reasoning is quite clear and much better than those mindlessly shouting bullish calls.

The key is still whether 79.4k can be reclaimed. If two consecutive fifteen-minute candles hold above it, this short position definitely needs to be closed. But if it still cannot move higher, it could indeed move lower intraday to seek liquidity near 76.6k, so the plan looks quite reasonable.

Actually, the first reaction after such a sharp rise should not be to short; you should wait for a secondary confirmation, such as breaking below the short-term uptrend line after a spike, or a clear high-volume bearish candle. But your stop-loss level is well placed: above 79.5k would indicate that the judgment was wrong, and with the risk under control, it is worth trying.

Last time, I got buried chasing longs at a level like this. I’ll wait for a confirmed pullback before deciding. Keep short positions in the resistance zone small—don’t be stubborn.
