Bullish on $NVDA into earnings and still constructive after.
NVIDIA drops Q2 FY2027 numbers after the close this Wednesday, August 26. Wall Street is looking for roughly $92 billion in revenue and about $2.09 in EPS nearly double what the company delivered a year ago. Those are monster numbers, but at this point they’re almost table stakes. The real test is whether Blackwell demand remains constrained, how clean the backlog looks, and what management says about the second half and the ramp into Vera Rubin.
From everything we’re seeing, the AI infrastructure build out is still in the early to mid innings. Hyperscalers continue spending aggressively, enterprise and sovereign AI demand is stacking on top, and NVIDIA remains the clear bottleneck supplier. Supply hasn’t caught up to demand yet, which is usually a good problem to have when you’re the dominant platform. Gross margins and data-center mix should stay healthy. The company has a long track record of beating elevated expectations, and the current setup doesn’t look like the first quarter that suddenly breaks that pattern.
That said, I’m not ignoring the risks. History shows $NVDA often sells off in the days after earnings even on strong beats the bar is so high that “good” sometimes gets treated as “not good enough.” Options are pricing a decent move, and any soft language on guidance, customer concentration, or competitive pressure (even if temporary) can trigger profit-taking. Valuation isn’t cheap, and the stock has already had a strong run, so short-term volatility is almost guaranteed.
My stance is still long / holding through the print. I’m not looking to trade the immediate reaction for a few percentage points. I’d rather stay positioned for the multi-year AI compute cycle. A clean beat plus solid commentary on Blackwell Ultra / next-gen demand should keep the broader AI rally intact. Only a clearly weak guide or signs that demand is digesting faster than expected would make me more cautious near-term.
Positioning wise, I’m treating this as a core holding with room for noise around the event. Will be watching the call closely for any color on customer mix, pricing power, and how quickly the next architecture is expected to contribute.
Curious where everyone else stands are you buying the potential dip, already fully positioned, or sitting on the sidelines until the dust settles?
