AI Agents Could Be Crypto’s Next Users

Crypto adoption may not only come from humans. AI agents could become a new category of blockchain users, especially as stablecoins enable automated payments.
AI agents could potentially pay for data, computing and digital services without requiring a person to approve every transaction.
Coinbase’s AI product chief described this early stage as the Napster/LimeWire era of agentic payments.
The bigger question is whether crypto infrastructure can become fast, affordable and reliable enough for machine-to-machine payments at scale.
AI brings automation. Stablecoins could bring the payment layer.

AI agents paying their own gas fees? Then in the future, the blockchain will be full of bots spamming transactions, while humans just watch the show and collect taxes. Works for me.

This idea is interesting. Stablecoins serving as a payment layer for AI is indeed more efficient than humans manually confirming transactions, but if a machine-to-machine transaction goes wrong, who do you seek compensation from? Who is liable if the code has a bug?
