The tokenized stock market on Solana has reached its first total supply level of $465 million, a milestone driven by several simultaneous developments.

This milestone was immediately followed by Backpack Securities’ launch of shares in major pharmaceutical companies like Moderna and Eli Lilly via the Sunrise liquidity network, a move that coincides with growing investor interest in mRNA therapeutic developments in the healthcare sector. Backpack, which launched in June with tokenized SpaceX shares on the same day SpaceX went public on Nasdaq, has since added other names like Micron to its portfolio.

Another layer of growth occurred on the institutional side, with Bullish listing its own tokenized BLSH shares on a digital asset exchange regulated by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission on August 12th, marking the first tokenized stock transaction under Gibraltar regulation. Transactions were conducted in exchange for a dollar stablecoin, and the exchange offers 24/7 continuous trading and near-instantaneous settlement, creating a significant speed advantage compared to traditional US stocks, which are typically settled on a T+1 basis.

Solana's dominance in this space is also striking, with the network holding approximately 95% of the global decentralized tokenized stock trading volume. In the first half of this year, tokenized stock trading volume reached $4.9 billion, representing a sixfold increase compared to the $775 million recorded in the second half of 2025. In May, cross-chain trading volume alone hit a record high of $5.3 billion. The biggest trigger for this explosion was SpaceX's IPO; demand for the company's shares increased so much after they were tokenized that at peak times, Solana alone managed 99% of the related trading volume.

It's important to make a methodological distinction here: the $465 million figure measures the total supply value, i.e., the value of shares represented on-chain, and shouldn't be confused with daily trading volume; these are two different indicators. Solana's broader tokenized asset ecosystem, including shares, reached $5.77 billion in the second quarter, registering a 114% quarterly growth. However, it should be noted that the network's own revenue metrics, namely REV, declined by 43% and application revenue decreased by 31% during the same period, indicating that tokenized asset growth does not directly correlate with the network's own economic sustainability.

For those following tokenized shares and the Solana ecosystem via Gate, the key point to watch is this: while the $465 million supply figure itself is a milestone, true sustainability will depend on secondary market liquidity, deeper institutional participation, and broader regulatory reach. An increase in supply size alone does not mean the market is mature.
