The “chokepoint player” in lithography—no matter how crazy AI gets, it still has to queue here

If NVIDIA is the superstar of AI computing, then ASML is more like the “star-making factory” behind the scenes that controls the key equipment. Chipmakers can aggressively expand production, and AI companies can aggressively buy GPUs, but advanced process nodes ultimately cannot avoid one reality: who will manufacture these chips?
ASML’s core moat is advanced lithography equipment, especially EUV technology. The global advanced chip manufacturing industry is highly dependent on its equipment, and this commercial position means ASML is not a semiconductor equipment company in the ordinary sense.
My view remains bullish over the long term, but I would not blindly chase rallies in the short term. The reason is simple: a good company does not mean buying at any price will be profitable. ASML’s valuation often prices in expectations for AI, advanced process nodes, and semiconductor capital expenditures in advance. Once industry conditions fall short of market expectations, the stock can also experience significant volatility.
In terms of trading strategy, I prefer to “wait for pullbacks rather than chase sentiment.” If demand for AI chips continues to grow and foundries such as TSMC maintain their capital expenditures, ASML’s long-term investment thesis remains solid. Key indicators to watch include orders, order backlog, customer capital expenditures, and demand for EUV equipment.
If industry concerns cause the stock price to pull back significantly while its core fundamentals have not deteriorated, I would instead view such a decline as an opportunity to monitor or even build a position in batches.
Of course, ASML is not invincible. Export restrictions, customer concentration, the semiconductor cycle, and high valuation could all create short-term pressure.#Gate股票观点挑战 + ASML
In one sentence: NVIDIA handles the “computation,” TSMC handles the “manufacturing,” and ASML makes sure others have machines with which to manufacture.
So the company’s biggest appeal is this: the more the chip industry wants to charge ahead, the more likely this “equipment supplier” is to be remembered.

ASML0.04%
