AMD Setup Into the AI Trade

$AMD is sitting at an interesting spot as semiconductor stocks regain attention.

The stock has been moving with the broader AI and chip sector, and the recent price action suggests buyers are still interested whenever AMD approaches key support.

For me, the important area to watch is the recent support zone. If buyers continue defending that level and AMD pushes back above short-term resistance, it could create room for another move toward the recent highs.

The bigger catalyst remains AI demand. With the semiconductor sector closely tied to expectations around data-center spending, any stronger-than-expected signals from the AI infrastructure space could help AMD as well.

I’d rather wait for confirmation than chase a sudden move.

Watching AMD closely from here. 👀

In the short term, watch support; in the medium term, watch AI demand; in the long term, watch execution... Hmm, I’ll continue watching it form a bottom and only act after confirmation.

Honestly, the semiconductor sector is currently being kept afloat entirely by AI. If AMD can hold the key support level, I think it may be worth trying with a small position—but definitely not going all in.

Some are front-running while others are waiting—I’m in the latter camp. After all, there have been too many false breakouts lately. If AMD really takes off, it won’t be too late to chase it then, right?

It still comes down to data centers: as long as AI capital expenditures aren’t cut, AMD will eventually get a piece of the pie too. The key is not to rush in now and become the bagholder.

Wait for confirmation that everything is fine; chasing highs can easily get punished. At AMD’s current level, it’s important to see whether support holds.
