Bitcoin Just Made a Rare Move

Bitcoin just recorded a 5.8-sigma daily move relative to its 30-day volatility, according to Glassnode.
What makes it interesting is the scale of the move. Glassnode notes that this was Bitcoin’s largest upside move since October 2023.
Moves like this don’t happen often. They usually signal a major shift in short-term market momentum.
The key question now is whether this strength can continue.
Worth watching. DYOR.

I don’t know much about technical indicators, but this move above 70,000 is clearly no ordinary breakout—the market suddenly came alive.

5.8 standard deviations—the last time volatility reached this level was in October last year, and short-term sentiment has indeed been ignited.

Such a large sigma suggests the previous sideways consolidation was heavily suppressed. The bulls are now releasing their pressure all at once; next, we’ll see whether the price can hold steady.

The bullish news is genuine, but as the old saying goes, once all the good news is priced in, it becomes bearish. The key is to watch whether it can continue tomorrow—don't just focus on one big bullish candlestick.

Every time this kind of rare volatility emerges, everyone starts shouting that the bull market is back, but I think we should not rush to chase it—let’s see the trading volume first.
